11.A) Preliminary Site Plan for Mid-South Gifted Academy for a 10,580 square-foot, two-story, non-residential school building located on 0.80 acres at 220 South Center Street (Presentation by: Jay Cravens, Development Director)
As a business owner on the square and Collierville resident I encourage the town to approve this site plan for Mid-South Gifted Academy. This is an excellent addition to the square and a piece of property that has changed hands many times. This will be a huge upgrade to the current property and a great addition to the school and our community. They do an excellent job with traffic flow, the carline flows quickly and safely for students.
I am in support of the building of MSGA’s upper school. The students will benefit from the new addition. The local businesses will also benefit. I frequently stop at Square Beans in the morning and Zopita’s in the afternoon. The location of the gift shops and Russell’s also makes for convenient shopping on my route to and from school. Please vote in favor for our students and local businesses. It’s a win-win for everyone!
I am in support of this new building project. Only for the fact that it will devilize that corner and keep it from just being an empty lot that looks desolate but it is an amazing school that is growing and thriving. The plans look beautiful And I believe it would fit in with the historic town Square aesthetic. If the Carline traffic is a big issue I feel like it gives less of a traffic issue than Collierville middle school where traffic actually comes to complete standstill due to its carline.
This project benefits the students and families of Collierville by offering a unique learning experience to intellectually gifted children. The addition not only adds beauty to the corner that desperately needs it, but also benefits the businesses on the square since our students and families are frequent patrons due to the proximity of the building to the square.
MSGA is a phenomenal school, and the approval of this project will exponentially benefit the town. Personally I know of several families who have chosen to move here to be closer to the school. Please allow this project to be approved.
The building is beautiful, and this school is a wonderful place built to help gifted and twice exceptional students explore their passions and grow into strong independent innovators. This school has been transformational for my son. Collierville is lucky to have them interested in expanding in our community.
The addition of the highschool will not only look beautiful but will fulfill a unique need for a one-of-a-kind school for gifted students. These students are already changing the world for the better, starting in our own community. Please allow them to grow by approving this building!
This plan supports future focused education and growth of Collierville's most important resource (it's children) and what better place to do it than the square. Please support this building.

Both the project’s design and the school’s mission will only add value to The Colliervile community and it’s profile.
