10.A) Preliminary Site Plan for the Cartwright Place Business Center Planned Development (PD), (Chick-fil-A) for a 6,110 square foot restaurant on 2.54 acres located north of Poplar Avenue, west of Bray Station Road and east of Cartwright Farm Lane, Case #233183 (Presentation by: Donquetta Singleton, Assistant Town Planner)

I strongly support this plan! Chick-fil-A is a great business partner for the town and a benefit to the community. CFA Management has worked with Town Planning to develop a design that will alleviate current traffic issues on Poplar, increase parking and significantly improve drive though traffic flow. It also provides for more green space than any Quick Service Restaurant in town! The expanded facility will benefit everyone, including Chick-fil-A. A Win-Win! Plenty of space to do this properly.

I support the relocation for the safety of Collierville residents. The new location with more drive through lanes will reduce traffic congestion on poplar ave.

I oppose this! Fill some of the vacant buildings on Poplar before you tear up more land for a new one. This will make traffic worse than it already is!

As a Collierville resident who travels Bray Station daily, I fully support this proposal. Chic-fil-A is well known for their efficiency and I have heard first hand how this new model/layout will keep traffic off the roads and running smoothly. The only reason there is a traffic hazard at the present location is because the lot is entirely too small for any Chic-fil-A. With proper zoning like this, it will only be a welcome, clean, accommodating, safe, (and delicious) addition to this location.

I agree with many of those showing support. This plan does solve the CURRENT traffic and safety issues. However, it creates even larger traffic and safety issues in and around the Bray Station and Poplar area. The CFA-funded traffic study grossly understates the volume of traffic that will utilize the two-lane, already congested, roads in and around the site, with more future development on its way. This site should be rejected and a more appropriate site, preferably off Poplar, should be found.

I strongly oppose the current suggested relocation site for ChickFila. While I’m eager to find a suitable alternate location in our town, the current proposed venue doesn’t adequately and safely accommodate the amount of cars that utilize the space allocated for ChickFila (taking into consideration their real-growth over the next few years) along with cars associated with additional businesses as they’re developed at that location. Find the RIGHT location and ensure the safety of our residents.

CFA needs a new location that will solve their traffic and safety issues. The new CFA is a mega version that is planned to access on a residential street. That all the fixes are not in place is evident from the board review. The safety and traffic issues are not fully solved and major congestion is inevitable. There are much better locations that would be safer and handle the estimated volume better for a mega CFA.

This CFA is to be the LARGEST IN THE U.S! Let that sink in! Its main feeder roads for ALL HOMES north of Poplar are narrow residential roads that CAN'T safely handle hundreds 100's of cars flowing to this site. Dangerous intersection at Poplar/Bray; active railroad Xing/church & school/senior living site next door are all negative factors. A light at Bray&Frank won't solve this! Why would you force this terrible location when there are MANY safer options? Don't endanger our residents!!!

Support comments here are MISSING THE POINT! Issue is not that CFA needs more space or Grant Gibbs is nice. And this site is NOT the only alternative for relocating. This is 100% about SAFETY of residents & visitors. CFA is no regular drive-thru restaurant - this one is projected to draw 300-500 cars/hr in peak hrs. For 80% of customers, the main roads leading to it are DANGEROUS NARROW RESIDENTIAL roads & no Town plans or $$ to widen them. Fatal accidents are ASSURED if this site is approved!

The new site for Chick-fil-A is greatly needed for it has outgrown its current location. Their plan for the new site should help alleviate the traffic problems and provide a much better dining experience for Collierville residents.

I strongly support the relocation of the Collierville Chick-fil-A. This is a necessary move in order improve traffic flow through Poplar Ave, update layout design for increased efficiency and overall better the safety for employees and customers. This store has outgrown its size for many years now. The relocation will allow them to operate at maximum productivity. Thus creating one of the best Chick-fil-A locations in the nation. As a 20 year resident of Collierville I look forward to the future

Hurdles have been met with nothing but positive actions by ChickFilA. They have agreed to all of the towns demands on improving their business and are still willing to meet further conditions. Traffic will be coming from Poplar and routed so as to not impede it like it does in the current location. Let’s not discourage a faithful and long time tax payer and allow them to improve their business. Remember how Whataburger was discouraged and finally gave up??!! #SaveChickFilA

A new Chick-Fil-A is greatly needed. It will be bigger and allow for a much safer flow of traffic. There will also be more indoor seating along with a playground. All these factors will allow for a quicker, safer and more customer friendly Chick-Fil-A experience.

I support the proposed CFA move. The new location is a safer alternative to the current traffic issues caused by the popularity of CFA. Due to the fact that the new location isn’t much further from the current location, CFA can continue serve our community well, while remaining in a centralized location.

I oppose the relocation of CFA to the Bray Station / Poplar intersection for safety reasons. The new CFA will be much larger and will draw up to 350 cars/hour to an already difficult intersection. It will also dramatically change the residential streets in the surrounding area. CFA does need a new location in Collierville, but with the change to a high volume drive through model, the location needs to be safer and away from residential areas.

Meeting of 12/7 offered subjective emotions from CFA supporters, and an inadequate traffic study. Not once was an explanation offered as to how inevitable NEW safety issues will be accommodated. Bottleneck and congestions will undoubtedly occur at what is already a precarious intersection.
